Plymouth is a city on the south coast of Devon, England. It is situated between the mouths of the rivers Plym and Tamar.
The Royal Citadel was built in 1666 on the east end of Plymouth Hoe. Smeaton's Tower, built in 1759 as a lighthouse, the top two thirds rebuilt on the Hoe in 1877. It has views over the Plymouth Sound and the city.
The early port settlement of Plymouth, called "Sutton" has 100 listed buildings and the largest concentration of cobbled streets in Britain. Also on Sutton Pool is the National Marine Aquarium which displays 400 marine species and includes Britain's deepest aquarium tank.
A mile upstream is the Saltram estate, which has a Jacobean and Georgian mansion.

The city centre, the Theatre Royal and the Plymouth Barbican are within 5 minutes' walk of the Drake. The bus and railway stations are also nearby. A variety of cafes offering breakfast are a 5 minute walk away from the guesthouse.
