About Umea

Umeå is a town in northern Sweden and the capital of Västerbotten County. It is the biggest city in Norrland and the twelfth biggest in Sweden
Umeå is a centre for cultural activities, with annual film and music festivals. The annual Umeå Jazz Festival is one of the larger Scandinavian festivals for modern jazz. The Opera of northern Sweden, the Norrland Opera, is based in the city.
Umeå is located along the Blue Highway, which is an international tourist route from Mo i Rana, Norway to Pudozh, Russia via Finland.
