About Matsumoto

Matsumoto is a Japanese city in the Chūbu region on the island of Honshu. It is a city located in Nagano Prefecture. Matsumoto is designated as a Special City.
The current city of Matsumoto is a merger of the old city of Matsumoto with four villages. Matsumoto officially absorbed those villages without creating a new municipal organization.
Matsumoto is surrounded by mountains and is acclaimed for its beautiful views. Hiking and climbing locations are readily accessible by local bus transportation. Matsumoto has several historic features, such as Matsumoto Castle, Kaichi School Museum, and Temari (traditional Japanese handball).

Located in the Kamikochi mountain resort, Kamikochi Lemeiesta Hotel features indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and spacious Western-style rooms with views of Mount Roppyaku. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas and guests can relax on the massage chairs.
All rooms are non-smoking and feature carpeted floors, a sofa seating area and a flat-screen TV. A fridge with minibar, an electric kettle and an en suite bathroom are included in each. Japanese Yukata robes and slippers are provided for all guests.
A private reservable hot-spring bath is available and massages can be reserved for an extra cost. Local products can be purchased at the souvenir shop and luggage storage is provided at the front desk.
La Riviere serves a full-course French cuisine featuring local ingredients and guests can choose from a various selection of wines.
Kamikochi Lemeiesta Hotel is a 15-minute walk from Kappa Bridge and a 1-hour bus ride from JR Shinshimashima Train Station. Guests must take a city shuttle or taxi to enter the Kamikochi resort. The area where the property is located, is not accessible after 19:00. Read more...
