The city is situated near the southern border of Hungary, resting on both banks of the Tisza River, and boasting a transitional climate oscillating between oceanic and continental, with cold winters, hot summers, and fairly low precipitation. Its main attractions include the Votive Church, the Reok Palace, theSzeged Synagogue, and the Grof Palace.
