About Tokaj
Set in the very heart of the world-famous Hungarian wine region, Tokaj is renowned for its exquisite locally produced white wine.
Tokaj is a historical town in Northern Hungary, located in the center of the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine district where Tokaji wine is produced. The entire district consists of 11,149 hectares of classified vineyards. Tokaj has been declared a World Heritage Site in 2002 under the name Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape. However, its fame long predated this distinction because it is the origin of Tokaji aszu wine, the world's oldest botrytized wine. It's main sights include the local wine estates and vineyards, among them Himesudvar Winery and Vineyard, Rakoczi Cellars, and the Grof Degenfeld Wine Estate.
