About Roskilde
Denmark's historic capital retains much of its Viking history, in its ancient buildings and fascinating cultural museums.
Roskilde is located on the Danish island of Zealand. The town's Gothic cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum, which contains the well-preserved remains of five 11th-century ships are popular attractions in town. Roskilde is popular with shoppers thanks to its two centrally located pedestrian streets - Algade and Skomagergade - complete with restaurants, cafรฉs, and a variety of shops.
Besides the Cathedral and the museum other landmarks in town are Roskilde Palace, Roskilde Jars and St Jรธrgensbjerg Church - enmark's oldest preserved stone building.
