Hillerød is a city located in North Zealand, denmark.
The town of has a rich trade and cultural life and is especially known for Frederiksborg Castle, in the center of the town. The castle is open to the public and houses The Museum of National History and surrounded by a large baroque garden.
Another local cultural institution is “Hillerød Viden- og Kulturpark” - a library with surrounding workshops and game spots. This is the gathering spot for exhibitions, music and theatre.
The Gribskov forest to the north of town offers opportunities for hiking, bird and wildlife watching.
