About Lovran
Situated between forests and the sea, this beautiful town is a hub of Croatian culture and offers its visitors a relaxing atmosphere.
Lovran is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the eastern shore of Istrian peninsula. By the early Middle Ages it was an important urban and shipbuilding center of northern Adriatic. The region is rich with cultural-historical heritage. A parish church with medieval frescoes and Glagolitic inscriptions, and the 14th century tower of St George's Square within the old urban core, as well as rural ambiances and architectural edifices – namely turn-of-the-century villas with surrounding parks, are general points of interest.

Situated next to the sea, just above the seaside promenade in Lovran's centre, Hotel Excelsior - Liburnia offers free Wi-Fi, an outdoor and indoor swimming pools with heated sea water and a sauna. The stone-paved beach is nearby.
The hotel's Teens Club includes PlayStation games, air hockey, table tennis, sjoelen table shuffleboard, bocce, darts and a team game called City Quest. The Mini Club features various games, activities and creative workshops for children aged 4-12.
Each room is air conditioned and comes with cable TV and a minibar. The bathroom includes a hairdryer and either a bathtub or a shower. Room service is available throughout the day.
The restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it provides a Kids' Corner with entertainment staff during dinner. Occasional themed or gala dinners are organised and are accompanied by live music. There is also an on-site pizza restaurant with a terrace and a cocktail bar.
The main attractions of Lovran include the remnants of the city walls, the gates to the harbour and the restored medieval tower which is now home to the Maritime Museum and the gallery of world renowned painter Charles Billich. Renovated villas dating back to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy can be found nearby.
The town of Opatija is 5 km away and can be reached via a lively seaside promenade. Rijeka Airport is 50 km from the property, while the Pula Airport is 85 km away. Read more...
