About Hasselt
Founded in the 7C, Hasselt is a growing city, with historical sites that mix easily among modern shops, cafes, and pubs.
The centre is mostly car-free and contains a number of historical buildings. Among the oldest buildings in the town centre are the St. Quentin's Cathedral (11C-18C) and the "Herkenrode Abbey refuge house" (1542). The Grand Place and the nearby streets are lined with restaurants brasseries, cafes and taverns. In the Kapelstraat and the Hoogstraat are expensive shops with the most famous brands. Another major religious building is the Virga Jesse Basilica. The churches must cede domination of the skyline of the city to the modern twin towers of the "TT-wijk", however. In 2003, the renovation of this complex, now including a shopping mall and a hotel, gave the centre a new boost.

BareFoodGIULIA is located in a beautifully renovated mansion in the center of Hasselt, 300 metres from the Hasselt Market Square. The property has been updated while retaining original features.
The seven rooms at this boutique hotel are unique in decor and each has its own atmosphere. All rooms have wooden floors, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a Nespresso coffee and tea machine (free), a hairdryer, a desk and free WiFi and from the 1st of November a very cute minibar (paying). Each room also has a private bathroom with a rain shower and complimentary luxury Acqua Di Parma toiletries. Bathrobes are also provided free of charge.
An extensive breakfast (Suitcase) is served every morning from Monday till Saturday. On Sundays we serve our luxurious Lazy Sunday Breakfast. From the 1st of November 2024 every room has its own trendy minibar (paying) Luggage storage are also offered upon request.
The hotel has private parking on site, available on request and subject to availability.
Hasselt train station is only 500m from BareFoodGIULIA. The Grenslandhallen is 2.4 km from the property, Plopsa Indoor is 2.4 km away and Pukkelpop can be reached within 5 km. The nearest airport is Liège Airport, 49 km from the hotel. Read more...
