About Bad Gastein
A prime spot for "taking the waters," this Alpine spa town invites you to plunge into thermal wellness.
Bad Gastein is a spa town whose local Heilstollen thermal spring water earned the town its early fame. Beside its water treatments, the town is popular for winter sports. The town also hosts a women's tennis tournament annually, attracting top players. Most of the Gastein Valley contains moderate to good skiing and snowboarding, with plenty of chairlifts and gondolas. Many establishments on the slopes offer warmth, food and strong drinks. Bad Gastein has vibrant pagan traditions that have been slightly assimilated into Roman Catholic tradition, including the Krampus, a horned and demonic character, playfully re-enacted by bands of male revellers during December.

The 1,800 m² spa area includes an indoor pool with thermal water, a sauna area, an infrared cabin, relaxation areas, various baths, fitness and aerobucs rooms, and beauty treatment rooms. The outdoor area includes a large sunbathing lawn and tennis courts.
The spacious and elegant rooms at the EUROPÄISCHER HOF Aktivhotel & Spa include a flat-screen cable TV, a minibar (stocking on request, for a fee), and a seating area. The bathrooms feature bathrobes and a hairdryer.
The restaurant serve Austrian and international cuisine. Half-board with a 4-course dinner with salad buffet or a buffet evening is available on request. Also on site is a typical Austrian café serving homemade pastries. Services begin with dinner on the day of arrival and end with breakfast on the day of departure. Additional services (breakfast on the day of arrival, afternoon snack, etc.) can be used at an additional cost.
