Sirmione

Sirmione is situated on a narrow peninsula that juts into the lake. It is a beautiful historic town with medieval architecture, and, at its center, stands the outstanding Scaligero Castle and Museum, which offer a glimpse into the area’s past and strategic importance during the Middle Ages. The town’s thermal baths are located further along the peninsula, and, at the tip, is the Grotte di Catullo, an archaeological site with Roman ruins, including the remnants of a large Roman villa. Signage indicates that the villa had belonged to the Roman poet Catullus.

Riva Del Garda

Located at the northern edge of the lake, Riva Del Garda is a charming town known for its colorful buildings, stunning beaches, and the medieval Rocca Castle that offers panoramic views of the lake. Inside the castle is the MAG Museum, featuring exhibits of classical art and archaeology, as well as a diverse collection of artifacts and paintings that highlight the cultural and artistic heritage of the region. 

Limone Sul Garda

This picturesque town on the western shore is famous for its lemon groves and narrow streets lined with shops and cafes. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and its crystal waters.

Isola Del Garda

Isola Del Garda is the largest island in Lake Garda, and, at its center, there is a magnificent Venetian villa, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Access to the island and tours of the villa are available by boat, and they require advance booking.

Gargnano

This charming village on the western shore of the lake is known for its historic buildings, enchanting streets, and beautiful lakeside promenade. It is a tranquil spot to enjoy the serenity of the lake.

Parco Giardino Sigurtà

Located just over nine miles south of the lake, this impressive and expansive botanical park features a wide variety of flowers and plants. Enjoy them as you stroll along the park’s well-maintained walking paths.

The Varone Waterfalls

These waterfalls tumble over 328 feet into a gorge in the town of Tenno, about 2 miles from the northern end of Lake Garda. Over thousands of years, the water penetrated the rocks, creating a unique natural phenomenon that for many years was only accessible to experienced mountain climbers. There are now paths, stairs, and bridges that enable visitors to reach the spectacular interior of the gorge at two points.

Mount Baldo

Mount Baldo, often referred to as "the Garden of Europe," rises over 6562 feet above Lake Garda and is one of the region's most stunning natural marvels. It is renowned for its remarkable array of flora, spanning from Mediterranean to Alpine species, and the flowers that bloom in the spring and early summer are outstanding. To experience the breathtaking views from the summit, you can either hike or take a cable car up. The cable car offers a unique 10-minute journey, rotating while it ascends to provide 360-degree panoramic views!

Bardolino

Nestled on the eastern shores of the lake, this town is renowned for its centuries-old traditions of wine making, indicated by the label "Bardolino Classico."

Il Vittoriale degli Italiani

Situated in Gardone Riviera, Il Vittoriale degli Italiani was the former residence of the Italian poet and writer D’Annunzio. The estate has been turned into a museum that showcases the poet's villa. It is filled with captivating decorative arts, stunning gardens, cascading water features, a warship, and a unique atmosphere.

Museo di Salò

Located in the town of Salò e il Garda, this museum displays archaeological finds and historical objects related to the history, art, and culture of the city.

Along the shores of the lake, local markets abound all week long! The markets in the towns of Desenzano Del Garda, Lazise, and Salò are renowned. Be sure to check days and hours in advance.
