The birthplace of the fashionable Paisley Pattern, the largest town in Scotland is best known for its weaving industry and its abbey.
Paisley is the largest town in the historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland, situated on the northern edge of the Gleniffer Braes.
The town centre, Williamsburgh and Charleston areas contain many examples of Scottish tenement flats. Three to four stories tall, with shops on the ground floor and constructed of local blond and red sandstone, these tenement flats have been extensively restored and modernised over the last two decades.
The town is also home to the world famous Chivas Bros whisky producer.
Local sights include the medieval Abbey in the centre of the town,the Dooslan Stane and St Mirin's Cathedral.
