About Hakone
Providing easy access to the national park surrounding Mt. Fuji, this charming town also offers museums and traditional hot springs.
Hakone is a town in Ashigarashimo District in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The economy of Hakone is strongly dominated by the tourist industry. Hakone is noted for its onsen hot spring resorts, which attract both Japanese and international visitors due to its proximity to the greater Tokyo metropolis and to Mount Fuji. Sights include the volcanically active Owakudani geysers and Hakone Shrine on the shore of the lake, as well as the Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands. In April the cherry blossoms (sakura) and in autumn the Miscanthus sinensis (susuki) are noted sights. Hakone also has a number of art museums, including the Hakone Open-Air Museum and Pola Museum of Art.

All rooms feature a terrace or a balcony. Guests can watch blu-ray or satellite channels on the 40-inch flat-screen TV, and mineral water and a morning newspaper are provided.
The hotel is a 45-minute drive from JR Odawara Train Station, and offers free shuttles from the station at 12:15, 13:15 and 14:15 (shuttles from the hotel leave at 11:30, 12:15 and 13:15). Seats on the shuttle must be reserved in advance. Shuttles to/from Gora Station is also available from 10:00 to 18:30. Lake Ashi and Owakudani volcanic valley are both a 30-minute drive away, and the Hyatt provides free parking.
You can unwind with a reflexology treatment, massage or facial at Spa Izumi & Onsen Hakone, lounge at the library or simply enjoy the sun on the terrace.
Open for all meals, The Dining Room serves Western cuisine from an open kitchen and has a terrace with mountain views. Sushi is available in the evenings. Reservations are required for dinner in the dining room. A la carte lunch items and snacks can be found at the cosy Living Room. Read more...
