About Hvar
A beautiful resort, this vibrant city is home to stunning architecture, picturesque beaches, and an array of historic monuments.
Hvar’s location at the center of the Adriatic sailing routes has long made this island an important base for commanding. It has been inhabited since prehistoric times, originally by a Neolithic people whose distinctive pottery gave rise to the term Hvar culture, and later by the Illyrians. The ancient Greeks founded the colony of Pharos in 384 BC on the site of today’s Stari Grad, making it one of the oldest towns in Europe. They were also responsible for setting out the agricultural field divisions of the Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prosperity brought culture and the arts, with one of the first public theatres in Europe, nobles’ palaces and many fine communal buildings.

Hotel Fortuna is located at the beach in the Milna village, 5 km away from the centre of Hvar town. It offers tastefully designed and colourfully furnished rooms with free WiFi internet access. A bar and a restaurant are available on site.
This freshly updated property, provides superbly equipped rooms with air conditioning, flat-screen TVs , coffee and tea maker. Each unit features a private bathroom with toiletries and a hairdryer. Each room has a balcony, or at least outside sitting area, some of them overlooking the ocean and beach, others overlooking the pool or garden/parking.
In the vicinity of the Fortuna there are 4 unspoilt pebble beaches. The Fortuna restaurant serves delicious Dalmatian cuisine and typical Mediterranean meals. Guests can relax at the beach or enjoy local specialities at the beachside restaurant.
Our guests are able to enjoy an outside heated swimming pool. It is open as long as hotel is open; from May until mid of October. Our guests can use lounges (sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge) available at the pool area. The hotel offers a private and secure parking spot for your car or scooter. Parking is free of charge.
Owners will happily help organise bicycle rental, laundry and ironing service and shuttle service. Hotel provides fresh beach towels daily free of charge while chairs and umbrellas can be rented at the beach for extra fee.
Continental buffett breakfast in Hotel Fortuna is served every morning from 7:30 am until 10:30 am. Restaurant Fortuna is open for hotel guests only for lunch in period from 12:30 - 15:30 and for dinner from 18:30 until 20:00. Read more...
